Interested in Coaching? Anyone interested in head coaching or assistant coaching in the Surrey Lacrosse Association must apply by completing and submitting a Coaching Profile [Word format] [PDF format]. The SLA Executive reviews all applications and makes selections based on previous experience, necessary coaching levels and coaching philosophy. All coaches, assistant coaches and other bench personnel must first complete an RCMP criminal record check, which must be undertaken annually. Reference Documents for Coaches, Managers and Parents We have a number of online reference documents (Adobe Acrobat PDF format*) that may be downloaded to assist coaches, managers and parents in helping their players better understand and perfect their game. Surrey Lacrosse Association has developed a handbook for team officials to use as a reference guide to manage team affairs during the season. Included are templates for setting out an Initial Parents Meeting, Team Business Plan, Emergency Action Plan, Roster List, Game & Practice Schedule and 50/50 Licence.
A two page quick reference document for coaches to refer to, containing highlights of the Coaching Manual, contact information, document handling, etc. A must for all coaches to keep on their person during games.
A two page reference document for coaches/managers to print off and give to timekeepers unfamiliar with the All Sport 5000 console which controls the new scoreboards in Cloverdale Arena and North Surrey Rec Centre Arena #1. All teams must apply for and obtain a Class D Gaming Licence (under $5,000) before starting their 50/50 Draws. No draws can take place without this licence. The entire direct access gaming fund for Surrey Lacrosse Association can be terminated if unlicensed draws take place. To obtain a Class D Licence, click here for detailed instructions.
