A new coach and five returnees from last season has the Surrey Rebels confident of another successful season in the B.C. Intermediate B Lacrosse League.

Padraic Lawrence, a 17-year veteran of the New Westminster Salmonbellies organization, takes over as head coach of the Rebels, which went 16-8 (won-lost) and placed fourth in the 13-team league.

Connor Campbell, Zack Morin, Chris Niemi, Max Richards and Kyle Wegner are among the returning players.

The Rebels open preseason play on Thursday, April 16 in North Delta. The 18-game regular season will get under way on Friday, April 24 against Port Moody at the Cloverdale Arena.
