Rebels claim top spot

The Surrey Rebels moved into first place in the B.C. Intermediate Lacrosse League’s South Conference with a 13-12 overtime win over the North Delta Hawks.

Ryan Sepka and Derek Kolins each scored four times for the Rebels, with Michael Bosch netting two and Brodie Serka, Brad Olson and Spencer Gilbert notching one each.

Olson, Serka and Bosch also assisted on two goals apiece.

North Delta had a huge 70-43 shots on goal advantage, and led 5-3 and 8-7 at the period breaks. The Hawks were near-perfect with the man advantage, scoring seven times on eight powerplays.

The Rebels are on the road for their next two games. Last night (Tuesday), they were in Burnaby to face-off against the Lakers, before playing the Langley Warriors next Monday night at the George Preston Recreation Centre.
