North Delta Hawks still perfect

The North Delta Hawks remain the lone unbeaten team in the B.C. Intermediate B Lacrosse League, winning their fourth consecutive game Thursday night at the Sungod Arena.

Netminder Brendan Brady stopped 72 of 75 shots he faced, allowing the Hawks to edge the Delta Islanders 4-3.

The Hawks are at home again tomorrow (Thursday), hosting the 1-1 Burnaby Lakers at 8 p.m. in the Sungod Arena.

- In other action, the Ridge Meadows Burrards overwhelmed the Surrey Rebels 7-4 Friday night at the Cloverdale Arena.

The Burrards were able to score just twice in the first 34 minutes of play, and trailed 4-2. But three goals in the last six minutes of the second period and two more early in the third lifted Ridge Meadows to their third win in four games.

The Burrards dominated play, outshooting Surrey 62-36. Clayton Finley was a standout in the Surrey goal, making 55 saves.

Vaughn Readman, David Goodwin, Alex Lamb and Andre Culjac were the Surrey goal scorers.

Now at 1-3 (won-lost) on the season, Surrey will host the 1-2 Port Coquitlam Saints Gold Friday at 8 p.m. in the Cloverdale Arena.
