First loss for Rebels
The Surrey Rebels lost for the first time this season on their home floor Monday night at the Cloverdale Arena, falling 9-6 to the Coquitlam Adanacs in West Coast Junior Lacrosse League play.
Playing in front of a season-high crowd of 150, the Rebels were outshot 52-32, and trailed 3-2 and 7-5 at the period breaks.
Callard was the top Surrey scorer, tallying four times and assisting on one other. Tommy Tran and Sean O’Beirn each collected a goal and two helpers. Chris Martin with three, Tyler Voisey with two and Braden Wilkins also had assists.
The Rebels scored three times in 11 powerplay opportunities, and killed off six of nine shorthanded situations.
Surrey is at home again Monday at 8 p.m. in Cloverdale when the Port Coquitlam Saints are the visitors.
