Rebels top Delta

Curtis Callard tallied five times and assisted on another, leading the Surrey Rebels to a 6-4 win over the Delta Islanders in a West Coast Junior B Lacrosse League game Monday night at the Cloverdale Arena.
Surrey led 2-0 and 4-2 at the period breaks to win their first home game of the season. Chris Martin also tallied for the Rebels, opening the scoring eight minutes into the game. He also added one assist.
Also credited with assists were Bobby Tammen with two, Andrew Kennedy and Colin Derby.
The home team enjoyed a 31-19 edge in shots on goal over the first 40 minutes, but the Islanders dominated the third period, firing 23 shots at the Surrey goal. Jeff Geyer all but shut down Delta, stopping 21 of the 23 shots to preserve the victory.
